Watkinsville boasts many upscale eateries, but Mirko Pasta is its first Italian establishment. Located in the Town Center on South Main Street, it is a city-styled restaurant in a small town.

General Manager Stefano Volpi, who is from Torino, Italy, has lived in the United States for 10 years and used to own Bicheros. His decision to help Mirko Digiacomantonio open a restaurant in Watkinsville was influenced by the better environment of the other upscale successes of Main Street restaurants and the passing of the beer and wine legislation.
The Mirko pasta concept is the unique possibility of mix and match.

A customer can pick pasta out of 15 different kinds of long or short pastas and then pick their favorite kind of sauce out of nine choices. There are also several kinds of entrees that are already put together. There are a couple of great Bruschette choices as well as other appetizers. Their wine and beer lists are full of interesting options from Terrapin to Pilsner Urquell to Vino Rosso Della Casa. They have two versions of tiramisu or a cannoli for dessert.

Mirko has very clean lines and exquisite choice of furnishings, yet it does not leave you with an uptight feeling. It reminds one of an old styled kitchen. You don't feel over dressed, it is very casual and the service is fast. The employees are very amiable and helpful.

The food is great, to say the least. I had the Wild Mushroom stuffed Ravioli with the Funghi di Bosco sauce. The sauce is basically a mushroom cream sauce and it was perfection. It was hot and served with bread, which was good to scoop every last drop of sauce with. In light of the fact I am sure this will make me sound like a 14 year old school girl, I totally loved it!

They are wonderfully fresh in every aspect of their service. Homemade pasta in a restaurant that makes you feel like you are in a kitchen in Italy.
Mirko Pasta is in the Town Center on South Main Street in Watkinsville. So far they do not take debit; but credit, cash and checks are all fine. To call and make a pick up order call 706-310-1233
