Currently, there are 11 teams participating. Students are given a roster with teammates to fill out and the team sizes vary. Teams must have six to play. If another team can't have enough people to play on the scheduled game then that team is forced to forfeit. The games are all being played at the YWCO fitness facility. "GSC takes pride in intramurals," said Tia Williams, coordinator of student life. "And it's something that will always be around GSC."
Every team qualifies for the playoffs, but the win/loss record determines which seed a team gets. Teams can be created in a few different ways. If a student doesn't know enough people that want to play, they can sign a roster to be put on a random team or they can enter the free agent pool which then, student life will match up a player with the team that most needs players.
In this league, you will find that it is a great way to "stay active and meet some new people," said Kinsey. If you have any interest in football and enjoy physical activity, you belong in this league. Kinsey stated that "even though there might not be any sure bet college football players coach Mark Richt would be drooling over; there is a good amount of play making ability in this league."
Tyler Hodge, team captain of the Milk Bones, said that this league is all about "competition and having fun at the same time." Hodge stated that it's "fun to play with and against friends." GSC is always up to date with the team schedules, statistics of the games, team standings, and what colors each team is supposed to wear.
